Charitable Works
Cystic Fibrosis is the charity we are to support for 2009.
It is the third charity we have supported and we are proud to be able to
give something back to a worthwhile cause. Everyone in the club
participates in our charitable work throughout the year. Last year we
managed to supply enough plastic bottle tops to purchase two puppies
to be trained to assist blind people. In 2006 we supported Chester
Wheelchair Basketball Club. Our senior men and u18 boys played a
charity wheelchair basketball game and raised £480.
It was a great day culminating in all the younger children trying out
the wheelchairs and experiencing what difficulties disabled wheelchair
users face daily. Needless to say our able bodied fully fit team were
trounced by their wheelchair opponents a fact that we have not let
them live down to date.
